  • To be puzzled with something that is proving to be too complicated
  • To be frustrated by not being able to do something

Pronounced as Ba (From Bat – the flying mammal) + Ff (from Off) + Uld (with U having the sound from Umbrella).

The word comes from French Bafouer which means “to ridicule“.

Situational Uses:

  • The 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle baffled everyone whom I showed it to.
  • After failing to climb to the peak of Mt. Everest, the mountaineer was baffled about what did he miss despite his entire year of preparation.
